Special Notice:
Please note that since September my Dad has been seriously ill; in and out of intensive care and having to undergo three major operations in the space of a week. We very nearly lost him. As 'senior man about the house' in his absence I've had to take on major responsibilities; caring for my elderly Grandmother being one; all the while whilst doing my best to study for my MA whilst trying to get enough money together to pay for it.
As such painting has taken a serious hit. I'm currently suffering from a serious backlog of work and am doing my level best to get through it in a timely manner. I wish to profusely apologise for the time it's taking to get some orders done. Obviously when you entrust someone to paint your minis there's a fear that you're either going to get ripped off; not get your figures or they're going to get a hatchet paint job. When delays like this happen it can cause people to obviously think to themselves 'is he pulling a fast one' etc etc. I just wanted to write this in detail to explain that I'm not some shady bugger that's up to no good.
I'm delighted to report that my Dad was discharged from Hospital two days ago and is making a good recovery. As such painting is once again back on the agenda in full flow.
Please bear with me while I try and get through everything.

Cheers

Rhys

Raise the Colours is a commission painting service that specialises in 6mm scale models painted to an excellent standard and at an affordable price.

6mm scale war gaming has become something of a rising force in miniature wargaming. It allows the creation of vast but affordable armies that combine the visual appeal of massed ranks of men on the battlefield but at a price that won't break the bank.

Nonetheless when it comes to getting these armies painted and on the table there is still a distinct lack of respect for the little men! It still seems to be acceptable to some commission painters to just slap on a base coat to 6mm figures and that's that... and expect to be paid sometimes as much as 35p for foot and sometimes as much as 50p for horse!

That is not how we do business however!

I am a wargamer and miniature painter with sixteen years experience. When you buy from Raise the Colours you're getting minis that are not only painted with care and skill, but also enthusiasm, pride, and good ol' fashioned honest endeavour at a fantastic price for skilled work.
